How Often Should a Mascot Be Cleaned?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how often a mascot should be cleaned—it really depends on how often it’s used and who’s using it.

If your mascot is only worn occasionally by a single performer, you may only need to clean it once or twice a year. On the other hand, if it’s used weekly by multiple performers—say, for sporting events, school visits, or parties—it will benefit from a more regular cleaning schedule. A good rule of thumb is to clean it at the start and end of the active season, with a refresh in the off-season, especially if it’s attending live events like birthday parties or media appearances.

You might also want to schedule a one-off cleaning ahead of special occasions like theatre performances, TV appearances, or important promotional events—anytime your mascot needs to look (and smell) its best.
